The plastic wave: un urlo alla libertà!

Non so se tutti conoscono questa band iraniana ma io ho pensato di parlarvene perchè a mio parere è una band da sostenere, soprattutto per il coraggio con cui Maral e gli altri due ragazzi si presentano a suonare Rock in un paese musulmano come il loro, dove tutto è vietato, specialmente alle donne. Pochi giorni fa sono proprio stati arrestati per aver tenuto un concerto clandestino in Iran. Mi stanno molto a cuore e spero vi piacciano. Vi dò il loro MySpace e nel frattempo metto qualcosina da lì su di loro:



"The Plastic Wave is an electronic rock band based in Tehran/Iran.

The band was formed in summer 2008 by Natch and Maral.



The basic idea of the band started by Natch and with help of his sister, Setareh. He played the acoustic guitar and she sang melodies for what he played. They started a music project together and recorded some demoes and named it "Go Out To Eat!".



Natch and Maral met in N! gathering, the biggest underground rock concert ever in Iran. They were both part of the show ad musicians. N! gathering turned to a very big event after 230 people from audience and musicians were arrested by Police and naming Rock music satanic by Iranian press and government! All the musicians held in jail up to 21 days including Natch and Maral.



After all the difficulties Natch and Maral met again and shared some ideas about music and found a very similar taste of music in themselves.



On summer 2008 Setareh decided to work more on her talent in painting and left "Go Out To Eat", and Maral joined the project.

They started the band "The Plastic Wave" and decided to start fresh and different. Maral completed what setareh had started before and wrote lyrics and vocal lines. They finished recording the home edition of their debut album on Autumn 2008 and named it [RE]action.



Shayan Amini Joined the band after recording the album as guitarist and brought new ideas to the music.



The band submitted for SXSW fetival and got accepted for SXSW 2009 to be the very first Iranian band with female front woman to perform in SXSW stage, but US consulate in Dubai wasn't kind enough to issue their visa!



The band is planning a brand new tour for summer 2009."

Maral fa parte anche di un'altro gruppo di sole ragazze chiamato Five Girls.Comunque il loro stile musicale è un pò influenzato da quello orientale.

""5grs" IS THE FIRST HEAVY METAL & THRASH METAL BAND IN IRAN WITH FEMALE VOCAL "5grs" was formed in september 2004,to Prepare a cover songs for an underground concert playing mainly music from "grunge",(pearl jam,audio slave,alice in chains).
The band original members were "Pooyan Madadi(Guitar)","Arash A.(Vocal)", "Mazdak Sadeghi(Guitar)","Navid Naeema(Bass)","Omid Shahifakhr(Drums)".
Over the years,there's been many changes in the groupe,with "shahin's departure and Idean Radkia's substitution as a drummer. After afew months all members has left the band and after that in may 2007 "sanam5049" join the band as vocal for 5grs new album(Access Denied)...
